Introducing BENT U.S.A, the UK's premier Techno, Punk and Electronica act, comprised of Thrush (SCREAMS), Rad (FEEDBACK), Zak (RUMBLE) and Gimp (THE BEAT).
Formed back in 1999 during a drug induced weekend, the Benders made their debut in London at the Waterats Theatre. They have since been on tour, or as they describe it, a crusade to take their music as far as possible. Their extreme mix of industrial, punk, metal and dance rhythms has converted as many fans as possible to their deviant domain. Described by Kerrang as "
the sickest band in the Britain with the ugliest sound", they have continued to create outrage, wreak havoc, and have been successful in being banned from four major London Venues.
The Devonshire Arms saw their chaotic stage act comprising with interband fighting, flying chains and a backdrop displaying a sick range of psychedelic images. At the Underworld, six bouncers evicted them. The Garage initially banned them for their lyrical content, later relenting but ordering them not to play their track, "RAPE TEAM MACHINE", a song that deals with the treatment of rape victims. The band promptly refused, performed the track and was instantly banned again.
The band have recently triumphed despite controversy, which includes their image (the band court the style of S&M Mavericks), hostile crowds, even more hostile support bands (who get pissed off with their equipment being damaged) and the sheer number of band members who regularly quit due to problems of a sexual nature.
They're an act to be feared. They're the future, your future. They're queer, they're here and they are going to spread like a virus.
