Full-time musician, Paula Standing delivers folk with an old country twist and a sting in the tale. Soulful vocals tell powerful stories of fascinating people; old, new, ordinary and extraordinary. Songs developed over the past three years have seen the release of two original albums with a third in the making. Performing in multiple venues across Adelaide and country SA, ‘All Fun & Games’ has been played across Australian Community Radio stations. Paula is a classically trained singer who is making a splash in the music industry.
Life began in Far North Queensland [Australia] for this Folkie, Paula Standing who treads the boards in musicals and choirs. She began to explore new genres and later began penning her own songs before recording began in 2010 after teaching herself guitar. Swayed by the likes of Gillian Welch and John Prine, Paula is drawn to the world of Folk with an old country twist. Telling Tales, released in 2013, sported her signature tales of the human story in all its gore and glory in a raw recording of voice and single guitar. In 2014, Paula went on to record with other artists with a new full sound; she aims to deliver vocals that melt in your mouth.
