Red River is a band from West of the Mississippi River in Minnesota. The husband and wife team of Dave and Michelle Anderson write, sing and record these songs in their home studio. Michelle's earthy, rootsy songs combine with Dave's Rock sensibilities to bring a unique flair to Red River. From down-home Country Honky Tonk music to folks praying for rain, it's Alt Country, NeoTraditionalist and Americana all the way, with a bit of Pop flair. Dave also writes and sings Rock, Pop and New Traditionalist songs with a nod toward his earlier Minneapolis roots.
Together the Andersons have created the Red River sound, with musical influences ranging far and wide. Michelle's influences include musical heroes like Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, Roy Orbison, and a bit of the Beatles, of course. Dave's influences include Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, Ray Davies, the Rolling Stones, and also the Beatles, of course! Michelle writes NeoTraditionalist and Americana music, perhaps about the simpler places and times that live on in our memories. Dave's music combines elements of guitar Rock with the Pop sensibilities of artists like Paul McCartney and Brian Wilson. Both artists write songs about love, life and just muddling through -- all the big universal stuff. It's the combination of their styles that creates that something unique and special about Red River.
