Many people claim to have invented the cha cha cha but I believe it was originally a hand clap probably in Africa but variations appear everywhere. It is an afro cuban beat and also appears in some flamenco music as a hand clap. This is a Jazz version at a Jazz Tempo this exciting beat sounds new. This may well be true but this sound was their not only in the feet of dancers at the Silver Star Club but in the drums and Hand-claps everywhere. However I will give credit because they called it Cha-cha-cha and can I remind you of a very similar sound called Wim-o-weh a Zulu chant not a million miles from cha-cha-cha-
