The day after yesterday

This day is one of those I wish they’d go away
Or never had come I tell you it’s an awful day
There’s something in my mind since I woke up 
And I didn’t find a way to make it stop
Why did you leave me, why did you leave me alone?

My eyes are tired, the night was much too long
I look out the window, the day has just begun
The sunlight reminds me of the day before
When you said goodbye and closed the door
Now I realize what happened to me

And I feel I’m standing with my back against the wall
And I promise myself everything is getting under control

My head is aching I know I drank too much
And I catch myself longing for your loving touch
Since yesterday I the loneliest man on earth
And I feel nothing could be worse
Than being on my own the day after yesterday

There’s still perfume in the air I don’t know the name
And it whispers in my ear: Nothing will be the same
It’s moving between these walls like a mysterious fog
Doesn’t lease me alone like a guardian dog
Creeping around, surrounding me silently

There’s a box in the corner with all the letters from you
I know every single word, everything is true
All of a sudden there is a giant flame
Devouring all envelopes with my name
I see sparks and embers crawling at me

There is a picture of you in a black and blue colored frame
I turn around and see your face in the window pane
You’re looking at me like you never did before
From my head to my toes through my eyes to the core
I feel I am naked the first time in my life

And I feel I’m standing with my back against the wall
And I promise myself everything is getting under control

There is a long black hair on the pillow another one on the floor
First they start to move then they start to soar
A cobweb around me I can’t move anymore
No way out, no chance to open the door
My feet in concrete, I will never make one step again

There is music in the air, it must be your favorite song
Someone is singing: Where did we go wrong?
Suddenly I hear sirens wailing
I get down on my knees and start craving
For peace and quiet in my mind

And I feel I’m standing with my back against the wall
And I promise myself everything is getting under control

Never again I wonna get paranoid
This is what I have to avoid
To carry on my life the day after yesterday
