Steeplechase developed out of the success of a demo that was cut by Poc and Jason Silver in the winter of 1999 with the help of their friend and mentor Greg Mazurek and future Steeplechase producer Frank Santagata Jr. at Times 7 Productions in Holmdel, New Jersey. The 3-song EP entitled "Once" caught the ear of a Grammy-Winning Producer/Engineer and led Poc to form Steeplechase, an up-and-coming moderate rock band from Central New Jersey.
The sound of Steeplechase is distinct from other Jersey Shore acts by their signature ringing guitar textures, warm synth atmospherics, and yearning melodic vocals. During the past five years, the band has written dozens of thoughtful yet anthem type songs and has released a series of albums and EPs. The most successful of these to date have been "Battleview Orchards" (2002) and "Winter Blooming" (2004). "Battleview Orchards" is a powerful rock/pop album featuring the Steeplechase musical mainstays a "Far and Away", "Last Crusade for Love", and "She Calls Me Out Tonight" - the latter a defining track which has been rerecorded by Grammy Nominated Producer John Ravenhall and will be released as a single in Europe during 2005. "Winter Blooming", Steeplechase's darker, more musically eclectic follow-up to "Battleview Orchards", has won a great amount of critical praise and includes the band staples "Keep Things Quiet", "Bastille Day", "Maggie's Song", and "Dandelion Snow".
Now signed with the renowned record/publishing companies ACM Records and New Future Records, Steeplechase intends on gigging as well as recording brand new material for a full-lengt
