Carimbó is the most well known folk music style that emerged from the Brazilian Amazon region. It was born out of a mix of folk music from West Africa and Europe, as well as the local Amerindian music. A traditional Carimbó band includes two curimbó drums, maracas, a wooden flute and a four-stringed guitar. Modern Carimbó also typically includes wind instruments such as clarinet, saxophone or flute, as well as electrical instruments such as bass guitar. Carimbó also often now incorporates musical influences from Salsa, Merengue, Cumbi and other Latin styles. Other new music styles derived from Carimbó include Brega Pop, Lambada and Tecnobrega.
Bouncy and rhythmic with a Brazilian feel, featuring ethnic percussion and classical guitar to create a cheerful, global feel. Works well for fun island films, wildlife or Caribbean travel promos. Great backup with repetitive drumming, fun cuíca sounds, Samba whistles and party enthusiasm... Instrumental, Brazilian, Carimbó
