UK artist Alexander Joe Winterbone composes and plays everything from Gothic Americana to Blues, Folk, and Electronica. Raised listening to Willie Nelson, TJ White, and Johnny Cash, he learned music from the Salvation Army Brass Band and wrote his first Country song on a guitar at age 12. Alexander played in bands during the Punk explosion of '77, and in the early '90s, he formed The PSI Division, a Techno-Punk outfit. A prolific composer with wide tastes, broad musicianship, and technical ability, he composes masterful music for all media.
Between 1991 and 1995, Alexander Joe Winterbone formed The PSI Division and released four 12-inch singles on Hardware Records and two on Millennium Records with the first release charted at number 76 in the top 100. In 1996, he moved to Australia and opened a recording studio where he established a solid reputation as a producer and engineer. Between 2001 and 2009, he composed as The OUTpsiDER (outsider), his DJ/Producer pseudonym. His remix of Petula Clark's "Downtown" was used in the 2004 "I Love New York" campaign to woo shoppers back to the city after the 9/11 tragedy. Alexander also remixed for The Animals, Peter and Gordon, and The Searchers. He is a full writer member of the Australian PRO, APRA. In 2007, he composed and played the soundtrack for the award-winning short 'Next of Kin' (Dir. R Schramm). Between 2010-14 Alexander studied Music History and International Relations at the University of Tasmania, and in 2014 took to the road in a camper van touring Australia, writing music, and playing around campfires which led him back to his Country roots.
