Award winning Composer Greg Scheer creates music in the genres of Classical, Country, Western, and Religious music. His stunning string quartet "6" was featured on WQED in Pittsburgh, and won an award in the 2000 Southeastern Composers' Symposium. Greg’s commissions include the Iowa Choral Directors Association, Iowa Composers Forum, Linn-Mar High School String Orchestra, Chagall String Quartet, and Northwestern College. In addition to having won the 2009 Calvin Hymn Contest, Greg creates popular jingles, themes songs, marches and remixes.
Greg Scheer resides in Michigan, and has created an impressive catalogue of over 500 compositions. He has won numerous commissions, and his electronic piece, "Crossfade," was included on the CD ... From Everlasting to Everlasting... Most recently, Greg’s hymn "People of the Lord" won the Calvin09 hymn contest and subsequently was sung and published internationally.
Musical awards Greg has enjoyed of a less official variety include winning the TopGolf Theme Contest with his song "Bring It On!" and having his march "We Are the Cougars" named the official fight song of Illinios Central College. In addition, Greg won the Frames Direct Robot Dance Song Contest, earned third place in the National Speleological Society Cave Ballad contest, and placed in the Top 5 of the Celldweller "The Best It's Gonna Get" remix contest. A fun highlight for Greg was winning an excellent $100 worth of pizza for his whimsical song and Lego animation "Google Me!"
A short (10 seconds, to be exact) theme that would work beautifully as something along the lines of the Dreamworks theme music. (Would also sound beautiful on NPR or as a Window's start up chime.)
