With her rich voice and strong songwriting, Lisa Theriot enriches the great bardic traditions of the past. She not only strengthens old ballads with original music or lyrics but also incorporates an interesting array of timeless modern songs. Her newest solo CD “The Keys of Canterbury” is made up of all original songs that distill Chaucer’s “Canterbury Tales” into a fabulous collection of unforgettable & addictively catchy songs. She and Ken Theriot also have a Christmas album - "The Gifts of Midwinter," with medieval & original songs.
Most recently, Lisa Theriot released original Christmas music on the album "The Gifts of Midwinter" by Ken and Lisa Theriot. That album contains Christmas music that is not the same old songs you always hear every year. There are several ancient and medieval songs on the album, including several in French and Spanish. Also included are two new, original Christmas songs - "Drink to the Holly Berry " and "The Gifts of Midwinter."
Also, she is currently three songs into work on a new album, "A Thousand Nights and A Knight," which will consist of songs inspired by the stories from Arabian Nights.
