Matej Voglar is a Slovenian musician and composer with an uncommon curiosity that shows in his eclectic musical background. In addition to playing in local brass and symphonic orchestras, he's been a member of numerous bands, including Cota (Skate/Punk), Captor (Hardcore/Metal), Spam (Rock), Imakandi (Post-Rock), MMBassa (Experimental/Electro), and The Stroj (Industrial). Matej has also embarked on several solo projects like Threenajst (Experimental/Ambient) and Foxwolf (Tribal Trip Hop), which feature his unique blend of all these styles.
Matej Voglar enjoys creating droning, atmospheric music on one hand, psychedelic mathematic on the other... tribal and natural sounds on one hand, raw garage rock sound on the other -- and he loves to combine those extremes in search for new horizons.
His role in bands like Entheogen and The Stroj show his ability to write for everything from Rock bands to large Industrial orchestras. The Stroj is an Industrial band consisting of 10 drummers that play on DIY instruments made from scrap combined with samples of industrial machines, trains, and Tesla coils. They describe themselves as "street-tribe," combining tribal drumming and sacred dance rituals with the dirty industrial reality of the grey jungle in modern cities. Entheogen is a post-metal/sludge band trying to expend the genre by combining it with stoner-rock, mathematics, and pointers in eastern and western culture.
