John Wayne is Dead, I watched him die
One warm night in November.
Laid down his guns and went to sleep.
But we’ll always remember
The fear with which he ruled the world,
The crude simplicities in  which he traded.

And who has stepped into his shoes?
The guy from Blazing Saddles
Who says “I know we’re up the creek,
But look; I’ve got a paddle!

Just trust in me; you know I have a dream.”

America, the time has come
To prove that you’ve matured.
Lay down the guns that hide the Torch
 of Liberty Assured.
You say that we should measure you
Not by your might of arms, but your ideals.

So show us your humility
And show us your compassion.
Give us an ideology
That’s not a slave to fashion.
Time for you to show the world that
All this talk is not just empty words.

Now there’s a new kid on the block,
His name: Barack Obama.
His Mom an All-American girl,
His Dad, a Kenyan farmer.
And we’ve all heard him talk the talk,
So now its time for him to walk the walk......
