Once upon a time on a dark lover's lane
Had a big jug of whiskey and a full moon to blame

They took me down to central, was the worst of all my fears
Stood me right up in front of twelve of my peers
Judge asked the sheriff what was I accused of
Someone screamed when the sheriff said hillbilly love

I prayed to be delivered I cried and then I wailed
But they gave me my deliverance in the Horton county jail
I'm hopin' that some day I'll get a pardon from the gov
But until that there day comes I'm getting' hillbilly love
