Lyrics:
Twas the night before Kwanzaa, when through Santa's house
Not a creature was stirring, well maybe a mouse
The stockings were empty, Santa drank in his chair
While the misses sat watching that Stephen Colbert

Twas the night before Kwanzaa, when through Santa's house
Not a creature was stirring, well maybe a mouse
The stockings were empty, Santa drank in his chair
While the misses sat watching that Stephen Colbert

The couple was nestled all snug in their beds
Hoping no sugar plums would dance in their heads
Finished with letters and presents to wrap
They dreamed of vacation from the north polar cap

Then out on the lawn there arose such a clatter
Santa rose from his dream to see what was the matter
Away to the window he flew like a flash
Tore open the shutters, threw up on the sash

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below
When what to his hung-over eyes should appear
Seven cute elves, and thank goodness no deer

In green, red, and black they danced lively and quick
And knew in a moment this guy was St. Nick
And just like the reindeer each elf had a name
They began calling out in a fun rhyming game

Nia, Kuumba, Kujichagulia
Imani, Umoja, Ujamaa, Ujima
We're here for Kwanzza, Kwanzza is all
We want to show YOU a holiday so you'll have a ball

Santa was certain the elves couldn't fly
So he invited them in for left over pie
They giggled and laughed and somehow they knew
That Santa was stunned, didn't know what to do

Hey Santa, don't worry this isn't a goof
We won't ruin your chimney, we don't need a roof
Drums began beating, Santa quick turned around
Saw the missus was dancin' to an African sound

Shocked by her hips, he thought his missus kaput
So Santa just smiled began tapping his foot
They swayed cheek to cheek, and leaned back to back
This band is the greatest for a roll in the sack

They danced and danced, they were happy and merry
Santa behaved not sipping too much sherry
But then the elves said, stop enough with our show
It's time that we tell you what we thought you must know

We don't celebrate with trees or a wreath
Or peppermint canes that ruin your teeth
We won't be on billboards, in stores, or the telly
We eat peanuts and corn but not too much jelly

So we came here tonight, each dressed as an elf
United with pride, purpose, and self
In peace and honor with you we break bread
And oh how we' d love a long ride on your sled!

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work
And filled little stockings, then turned with a jerk
In his pajamas, he put on Santa clothes
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose!

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle
But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,
Happy Kwanzza to all and to all a good night
