Currently living in Shanghai, China, Stephen Ray Chapman is the force behind Sail The Seas. Having grown up in the USA, in Virginia, he began singing, composing, and playing musical instruments as a young child. His music is an interesting blend of rhythmic acoustic guitar, melancholy feels with an uplifting positivity, and a touch of summer vibes to bring it all together. Sail The Seas influences include bands such as Dashboard Confessional, The National, and The Fray, to name a few.
In 2014, Sail The Seas recorded and released their debut album "Myself, the World, and You." Recorded in San Francisco with artist/producer Jonathan Jones (We Shot The Moon, Waking Ashland, and Bird Passengers), Stephen Ray Chapman wrote, composed, co-produced, and played most of the instruments on the album.
