The Moscow Symphony Orchestra is an orchestra based in Moscow, Russia. It was founded in 1989 as the first privately supported orchestra in Russia at the Stas Namin Centre. The orchestra has conducted acclaimed concert tours at U.S., Europe, Japan, and South Korea. In 2001 Moscow Symphony Orchestra performed at the Festival of Russian Art at Cannes, France. The Moscow Symphony Orchestra also accompanies the Moscow Ballet, and ballet companies in the U.S. and Hong Kong.


The Moscow Symphony Orchestra is known throughout the world for making recordings of the highest quality such as first-ever survey of Malipiero’s symphonies, symphonic music of Guatemala, the complete symphonies of Charles Tournemire and Russian music by Alexander Scriabin, Alexander Glazunov, Sergei Rachmaninoff, Pyotr Tchaikovsky and Nikolay Tcherepnin.
The orchestra also known for it recording music for contemporary films. The complete list is very long, here are few examples. In 1995 - the soundtrack for the documentary Trinity and Beyond: The Atomic Bomb Movie by Peter Kuran. In 2005 – the soundtrack for the feature film Shadowless Sword by Kim Young-jun (South Korea); In 2006 – the soundtrack for the feature film One Night with the King by Michael O. Sajbel (USA).
