Craig McConnell's musical dimensions include discovery, exploration, risk-taking, and the rhythms of the human heart. In addition to being a brilliant performer, guitarist, and vocalist, he is also a composer and lyricist known for writing music with extreme dynamics, poignant melodies, and depth of emotion. Craig's music appears in feature films, documentaries, and TV commercials, and with the rich traditions and hauntingly beautiful music of his native Scotland, his sonic embrace is deep and wide.
Craig McConnell is an accomplished rock guitarist, film composer, and something of a “chameleon” within the world of music. Working in an impressive variety of styles and genres, Rock, Jazz Fusion, New Age and Classical, are but some of his many musical colours. His artistry reaches far beyond the realms of the technically and musically accomplished guitarist, for he has enjoyed international success as a composer and arranger for Film, Television, and live performance -- having composed music for productions worldwide.
Having spent 5 years in the US, Craig relocated to Switzerland in 2005 where he worked as a professional musician and film composer, having scored music for films featuring the work of the Swiss world leading extreme sportswoman Géraldine Fasnacht (“Dessine-Moi Une Ligne”, “Une Femme Choucas”, "La Haute Route des Pentes Raides" and "Holtanna, l'Aventure Antarctique").
He passed away on June 22, 2011 after having fought ALS with great courage. Let his great spirit live and spread forerver through his beautiful music...
