Kevin Burdick of Los Angeles is a composer, singer and musician who began learning the craft playing piano at six. Throughout high school, he picked up more musical skills-writing songs by the time he was a teenager, then drums and keyboards before purchasing a 4 track recorder. He became one of Arizona’s top tenors with All State choir honors, while fronting his own band, The Slamheads. A graduate of Brigham Young University, he became a top Healthcare IT professional. Personal tragedy led Kevin to reconsider his life path and at 35, he retired to pursue his true passion, music.
Kevin Burdick has received numerous accolades in the music industry press and from professionals. Scottsdale Magazine says his music is “a positive, energetic look at American life, spirituality, trials and pride. A major Salt Lake City radio station (KSL, now with a news/talk format) said “Kevin Burdick is a talented singer and songwriter-pure in energy!” Tyler Castleton of Shadow Mountain Publishing says “ (he) has a great sound…the songs are very compelling and moving, and Adrienne Frank of Get Out Magazine states “Burdick’s soul and talent are evident”.
Personal tragedy was a major motivation in Kevin's decision to retire from a very successful practice in Helathcare IT, including consulting and opting to live out of a tour bus. In 2001, he married Deborah Felsing. They had a baby girl, who died in 2003 following surgery to repair a heart defect. Shortly after her death, Burdick founded a charity in her name, The Dempsey Burdick Memorial Foundation, which provides headstones for financially needy families who have also lost a child. One of Burdick's more popular songs, "Too Good for This World," tells the story of the loss of his daughter.
