The Hi Freqs consist of Frank Josephs, who performed or recorded with Dazz Band, Dixie Dregs, Steve Vai, and Zapp & Roger; and guitarist Michael Ripoll, who has performed with Natalie Cole, Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, Stevie Wonder, Sting, etc. Michael also was Musical Director for Babyface’s band and was the accompanist for the 2005 American Idol Tour. These guys play Latin, Jazz, Flamenco, Rock, and Urban, and have appeared on TV with the Pussy Cat Dolls, Steve Winwood, and Randy Jackson, and did film scores for Kung Fu Panda, Happy Feet, PS I Love You, and Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

Frank Josephs, composer, and pianist for The Hi Freqs, attended the Jazz program at the University of Miami School of Music and later studied classical composition and piano performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music. As a musician, Frank has performed or recorded with the Dazz Band, the Dixie Dregs, Steve Vai, and Zapp & Roger. He has also performed with jazz greats Joe Lovano, Bobby Watson and Carmen Lundy.
Guitarist Michael Ripoll is also a songwriter and performer and has worked with Babyface, Leona Lewis, Jennifer Hudson, Natalie Cole, Stevie Wonder, Sting and many other prominent musicians. Michael’s music conveys a unique and powerful insight with heartwarming lyrics and infectious melodies. His music’s sincerity and honesty capture the essence of love beautifully and evocatively, leaving an indelible stir within the listener.
