South African-born American composer Emlyn Ellis Addison centers his moody Electronic works on unconventional instrumentation, complex rhythms, and unusual meters. His beautiful, craning melodies and lavish rhythmic patterns are organic, driving, and seductive, with influences from Massive Attack, William Orbit, and Radiohead. Emlyn's Orchestral works recapture the spirit of courage and entrepreneurship of the American West, with sensibilities of Copland, Glass and Reich, while often employing minimalist rhythms and transformations of popular melodies.
