Doug Michael is a seasoned composer, guitarist, instrument builder, and educator. He’s been a regularly featured composer on the syndicated TV show “Planet X” since 2010 and scored a Hyundai car commercial narrated by Jeff Bridges. Doug has had music placements with Pawn Stars (History Channel) MTV, A&E, CBS, Sports Illustrated, This Old House and has written music for commercials in Portugal, Turkey, Hungary, Germany, and Canada.
Doug Michael's additional credits include composed music for 2K Sports video games All Pro Football 2K8 and NCAA College Hoops. Composed an orchestral suite for a 45 piece orchestra entitled 'Lone Tree Suite' - commissioned and performed by the Diablo Valley College Philharmonic Orchestra. Composed the score to Right Purdy Pictures “Penelope’s Last Dance" - the film won ‘Best Short Film’ at the Cedar Rapids Film Festival. Composed “Klusters” - a piano and tape composition premiered at The Society for Electro-Acoustic Music in the United States (SEAMUS) at Louisiana State University.
