She was presented to Prince Philip of England at the age of 12 and performed at award-winning actress Audrey Hepburn's funeral. She has worked under award-winning composer Luis Bacalov (Il Postino, Kill Bill). To date, Shieh has released six albums, with two major wins from Taiwan Grammy’s Awards. Sherry Shieh has written music for orchestra, ballet, films, and video games. Her cinematic, contemplative and clear-structured music style is reminiscent of Claude Debussy, Erik Satie, and Sergei Prokofiev. She has released six albums to date, including Rhythm & Bach, which earned two major nominations from Taiwan Grammy’s Awards. As the youngest Ph. D. student of legendary pianist Anthony di Bonaventura, Shieh has performed extensively around the world. In 2007, Shieh’s ballet GATE toured in Taiwan and earned “Best Group of the Year” from the Tainan government. In 2008, she collaborated with the Taiwan Grammy’s award-winning Rock band CHAIRMAN. In 2011, Shieh dedicated, Joyful Heart, to victims of 311 Japanese Tsunami, drawing attention from Jinmen Government, which later commissioned her to write music in celebration of the State's 100th anniversary. In 2015, Shieh founded iii Films to tell inspiring, innovative, influential stories. Her documentary THE BOOK HOUSE was awarded at the 2016 KKIFF in Malaysia. Currently, Shieh splits her time between New York City and Taipei producing a movie trilogy and her seventh album. |
