Italian-born Brazilian artist Emilio Cantini studied Jazz with many great Jazz artists like Franco D'Andrea, Bruno Tommaso, and Tommaso Lama. His Easy Listening Jazz is reminiscent of Chuck Loeb and the Pat Metheny Group. As the owner of a recording studio in Brazil, he creates soundtracks for Theater, Movies, Radio jingles, TV, YouTube, and many other applications. Emilio's music is relaxing and beautiful as it transports listeners to a peaceful and inspiring place.
Emilio Cantini studied arranging and graduated in composition from SIAE in Italy and graduated in music from UCAM in Brazil. In Florence, Italy, he became a member of American saxophonist Ben Fajen's group with Walter Paoli and Lello Pareti. The group, Street Rhythm, was critically acclaimed in Italy and participated in many Jazz festivals. Emilio studied with Mike Stern and Joe Diorio, and then joined a Fusion group, Gezzero, with saxophonist Carlo Gatteschi.
Living in Brazil since 1989, Emilio formed the Cantini Jeztrio, which played in many local places with Adriano Giffoni, Marcelo Mariano, Idriss Boudrioua, Victor Biglione, Mauro Senise, Caio Marcio, Robertinho Silva, Ricardo Silveira, Zé Canuto, Bruce Henry, Milton Banana, Alex Carvalho, and many others. In 1992, he recorded his first solo album, featuring his skills as an instrumentalist and songwriter. On his CD, Brazilian rhythms create the foundation for musical moments of Jazz improvisation. Emilio credits his musical influences including PMG, Larry Carlton, Mike Stern, John McLaughlin, Chuck Loeb, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and more.
Living in Brazil, I watched a Soap Opera in the late ninties, and I was very impressed by a very interesting and different character with a great heart and passionate at the most called Ascanio, so I wrote this song in homage to him. Instrumental, Jazz, Smooth Jazz
