From the magnetic land of Dartmoor, UK, and now based in France, Singer-Songwriter and Guitarist Jess Hatton Brown is an androgynous poet who traversed the ‘Miles of Green’ to achieve an impeccably minimalist Folk sound. She has spent her life composing songs from her native heathland to Los Angeles and San Francisco. Choosing France as her new home, she entered the live music scene where she met a French Electro musician with whom she produced her latest EP. Jess’s airy voice adorns and harmonizes to settle gently in the listener’s soul.
Singer-Songwriter/Guitarist Jess Hatton Brown has auto-released three album-length recordings of her original compositions. Her latest EP 'A Weightless Sound', was born of a collaboration with a French musician she met while performing a concert in Nantes France, her current home. Together they reproduced the sound of the EP for live performance - not having actually played together live before the recording of the EP. Jess writes the arrangements for her tracks and also composes for TV/Video projects, working with Felt Music Library in the UK and music for various independent video productions. Though originally from the UK, Jess lived in the US for 8 years and studied guitar at Hollywood’s Musicians Institute, LA, before returning to the UK and completing a Master's Degree in songwriting. Although it's really in France she truly brought her compositions to the stage, studying more seriously her vocal performance and stage presence. She performs concerts regularly in France where she has developed a musical community and local fan-base. Jess submits and has been played on BBC radio shows in the UK and is a founding member of a Folk collective in Nantes.
