Singer-Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Joann Allie Rankin is a fixture in the Nashville grassroots music scene. She is affectionately known around town as "Momma Jo." Joann composes and produces music in a variety of genres including Jazz Pop, Folk Rock, Celtic Fusion, and Indie Americana. Her instrumental compositions feature guitar and piano with mesmerizing, hypnotic, and emotional vibes. Joann Allie Rankin wrote the lyrics and music for “I Should Be Singing the Blues” which was recorded by Blues artist Holly Benton.
Joann Allie Rankin’s debut CD has been compared lyrically to Bob Dylan. Her songs have been recorded by Nashville chanteuse Mandy Cook. She has also co-written songs with Nashville-based band The Red Wine Effect, and others.
