Mexico City Composer José Rendón Santana creates and produces music for Film, TV and Radio Commercials. His musical work has been featured in advertising campaigns for a number of world known companies like Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Nissan, Seat, Toyota, VW, Corona, Hanes and Home Depot, among others. Along with music filled with fusions and deconstructions, José also creates exceptional sound design -- both perfect for a wide range of new media.
José Rendón Santana took private drum lessons at 15 and then studied the guitar and piano. Then he became fascinated with electronic and experimental instruments and how technology so radically changed the way we create and record music. In 1995, he studied film music at the Mexican National Center for the Arts, taught by Master musician Arturo Brenan. In 2006 he enrolled in the Music Film Workshop at the Casa Del Lago UNAM, taught by Master musician Rodrigo Flores López. In 2008, he completed his Master Certificate in Theory, Harmony & Ear Training at Berklee College of Music, having won Berklee Music’s Celebrity Online Scholarships in 2007 in the name of Mark Mothersbaugh, founder of Mutato Muzika Studios and member of the acclaimed band DEVO.
Throughout his career, José Rendón has worked with some of the best musical production studios in Mexico, and is also Co-Founder of the indie label Konfort Records. His music has been featured on several musical projects in North America, Europe and Asia.
