The David Caldwell Five is led by David Caldwell Gustafson, although officially a band only since November 2005. The DC5 is quickly gaining a reputation as a musical force that insists on being recognized. Blending the lyrics and sensibility of a rock band with the musicianship and improvisational skills of a jazz quintet, the DC5 takes both genres to a new level. Their thought-provoking originals take you back to the jump-blues of the 1940's, or put their own spin on lesser-known classics by artists such as Paul Simon, Sting, Tom Waits, and the Beatles.

David Caldwell and DC5's jazz pedigree allows them to stretch out and make every song their own. Whether playing before a rock crowd or in a jazz club, this is one jam band that really can jam, so every live show is different yet equally exhilarating.
