Australia Hoover, The Ubiquitous Poet, produces records at Kinship Productions. He also writes lyrics and mixes and masters records, rounding out his sound engineering skills. "The Ubiquitous Poet" reflects his alter-ego: Ubiquitous meaning existing everywhere; and the Poet refers to early days as an MC trying to elevate his lyrics beyond the average street-corner rappers. Hoover's beginnings in the industry began in 1989 in Richmond, VA spittin' out intelligent rhymes over organic jazzed-out beats. While at Morehouse College, he began writing the jazzy tracks he's so famous for.
The years spent as Kinship's sole beat maker and chief conceptualizer, have allowed Hoover to compile a tremendous library of beats while also enabling him to fine-tune the craft of Hip-Hop production. According to Hoover, his writing ability has helped tremendously as a beat-maker, because he understands beats from the lyricist's perspective, not just from the producer's perspective. Hoover and Kinship gained some acclaim and released several cuts on compilation records including React Record's NU Movement Volume 1. Right now, Hoover is working with the INAB team and looks forward to upcoming projects. Hoover is also releasing an album through ACM Records.
