Lore's heartfelt and intelligent music started in Albany, New York over five years ago to create a sound that hadn't been heard before other than in their own imaginations. By combining a violin with hard rock and hardcore influences, as well as an intense orchestral background, Matt Mrowka, Jeff Ayers, and Matt Dana have tried to create music that is smart and interesting and also gripping and compelling.
Lore put out their first album in 1999, Glass Winged Angel, and sold it locally at shows and in stores around Saratoga Springs. Lore rose to the top of the charts on
MP3.com, gaining the number 1 slot in all of the metal genres on the site. This happened twice, and lead to a News Channel Six cover story on the band.
Lore's second CD, which was recorded at Max Trax studios in Albany, NY features members Jeff Ayers on violin, Eric Donovan on drums, Brandon Towers on Rhythm Guitar, Matt Mrowka on Lead Guitar and Lead Vocals, and Eli Hargrave on Bass Lore has been influenced By Tool, Section 8, Acid Bath, and Deadboy.
