Belgium Composer Stefan Meylaers creates sophisticated and breathtaking music with a cinematic flair. He mixes Classical, Ethnic and Jazz genres, combining acoustic instruments and electronic sounds. Stefan performed his piano concerto Amazonas at Carnegie Hall, was a guest performer at the United Nations and is Artistic Director for LSO (Limburg Symphony Orchestra). His music is performed in the European Union, USA, South Africa, Brazil, Russia, and all around the world. Stefan's colors, beats, and rhythms deliver a cosmopolitan touch for TV, Film, Documentary and all new media.
Stefan Meylaers has released several CD’s including “Stefan Meylaers, Portrait of a Composer 1 & 2” (Phaedra) and “Concert Music of Film Composers” (International Film Festival Gent). He wrote the music for the bestseller “The Field” (Lynne McTaggart, the theme music for Blog Talk Radio and his music is featured on the Belgian TV show "Smaak van De Keyzer." In addition to performing, Stefan is the Artistic Ambassador for the Rainforest Alliance.
Stefan studied at the Lemmens Institute (Belgium) and gained the Specialization Diploma Piano and the Master Diploma Piano and Master Diploma Chamber Music. He followed lessons with renowned teachers such as Alan Weiss and Zoltán Kocsis (piano), Guido De Neve (chamber music), György Ligeti (composition) and David Jackson (opera coaching). Stefan is active as a concert pianist, accompanist, composer, pedagogue and jury member.
