Guy A. Ruvolo is a super guitar player, and a clever writer/producer who delivers well crafted and catchy tunes. His 'retro' Pop Rock productions are thick with classic instrumentation and heavy on the groove. He’s a seasoned pro with many film scores, TV and AD credits. His favorite color is GREEN (from royalties), but he likes GOLD too, like his 2 CLIO’s. Hobbies include maintaining his Protools studio, playing ALL the instruments, and vacuuming. Guy also is a unique ‘character’ vocalist on Morning Radio spots and parodies are indeed crowd-pleasing.
Guy A. Ruvolo has often said, "I do it all myself, I don't need no stinking band". He gained huge AD experience and acclaim beginning last century while cutting at his NYC 5th Avenue production facility, and was in the company of the 'greats.' His clients included SWATCH, BURGER KING, McDonalds, ABC, NBC, CBS, The Clapper, and dozens of those crazy NYC Advertising Agency suits. Pop/ Rock credits (from his infant days) range in scope from The Ramones to Donna Summers. These days, he's cutting away in his MIAMI area facility, enjoying the Florida air-conditioning. Having been a Sound Designer for years, Guy's enviably talents are available right here on our site -- check out his vivid originality, chutzpah and a freaky sense of humor.
A quick trip thru the old EMI studio with the ghosts of the FAB 4. We open with a magical sitar riff including that familiar 12 string electric guitar. The catchy melody is played on a vintage electrical piano, and answered by an equally aged compact organ. It's FAB man! Instrumental
BAYOU BOY 125 @ 1:02 This is a retro ‘sound alike’ of the legendary CREEDENCE CLEARWATER, whose unique swamp sound broke new ground in the 70’s. The lead vibrato guitar in this cue sounds familiar, and is accompanied by both slide and acoustic guitars. This track can be used as a cool RE-INTRO, Ji, Instrumental
A mysterious power intro leads us into a fun, bouncy, danceable track a’la ‘Walk Like An Egyptian’ from way back. But this song goes deeper into the middle eastern realm, with the addition of semi-scale solo instruments, and a weird wah guitar. Lots of Lots of flutes, and ominous sounding horns. Instrumental
A chock full of horns & guitar thrill ride, building to a crashing end! This is great for a car or foot chase, or bar fight scene. Instrumental, Rock, Symphonic Rock
A unique “laid back” groove track, great for a FEEL GOOD scene, maybe a little suspense. A catchy echo guitar intro takes us for a modern trip complete with Synths, funky bass, Hammond organ, fresh percussion, all with a catchy melody. Instrumental, Pop, Pop Groove
Imagine Deep Purple with synths. OK, we’re back in 1979. They called it ‘Hard Rock’ back then. This gritty track COULD depict a hog biker driving thru big mountains, maybe coming across an old Indian village where he spies a hot squaw. Hey, you’re the one with imagination. Great retro guitar hook! Instrumental, Rock, 70s Rock
Down and out, sitting in a smokey bar. It's 3 AM, she left me, my wallet's gone. A sexy 50's jazz guitar, perplexed vibes, with a saxy horn section. The Hammond B3 organist is drunk, so is the beat drummer. But after 6 drinks, the chick at the end of bar looks good, even with torn fishnets. Instrumental, Jazz, Dramatic Jazz
The alarm clock rings somewhere in Brazil, she opens her eyes, the day begins, she’s late. She rushes to work, runs out the door, thru the traffic, weaving thru the sleepy crowds, then as she collapses at her desk, the alarm rings again. Did she dream it all? Part 2 is a furious moving Meringue’! Instrumental, Latin, Latin Pop
Dis is old school Reggae/ Rock. It be a unique WORLD track wit a strong downbeat, mon. I got de synths, de horns & a rockin’ guitar. Dis may be even spooky, or monster-ish. Rock on! Instrumental, Electronic, Experimental
A tongue in cheek Latin track, heavy beat, loops & lots of hornz. This ‘4 on the floor’ Latin Dance Music sounds like the 60’s, but the ‘Carlos-like’ guitar brings it into the 70’s and beyond. The beat is ala’ Miami Sound Machine from the 90’s. The licks are cliché’, but it’s all for fun. Instrumental, Latin, Latin Pop
It's a dark & cool rock/ orchestra track reminiscent of film noir’, or old B&W TV gumshoe shows. Although the ‘tongue in cheek’ instrumentation is classic 50’s, the rock-ish guitar brings it up to date. Lavish production with a hard luck ending. Instrumental, Blues, Electric Blues
Uncle Jasper was the janitor at STUDIO A in Memphis. Every night he’d bring home a bag of discarded 3 track tapes from the edit room. Hear the classic licks from legendary studio cats. Feel the happy ambience of that sweet studio as the mallets hit the vibes hard, and the string section soars. Instrumental, Pop, Pop Oldies
If Mozart & Beethoven started a guitar band, this would be it. A powerful rock track based on classical chord progressions. Edit friendly in & outro with a heavy groove includes Synth, choir, and a killer guitar solo at part 2. Great for an dastardly scene. Instrumental, Rock, 80s Rock
A tasty, attention getting intro guitar riff brings us to a short ½ time retro ‘hard rock’ section, BUT HOLD ON! We push you into a fast paced Synth frenzy. Followed by a visit to a mystical, grungy, dangerous place. Outro is a surprise! Great CHASE music. Instrumental, Action, Action Adventure Pending
A hip swaying groove featuring a strong fingered guitar picker who can pull those steel strings way far. Accompanied by his hipster, sax heavy brass section, and Hammond B3 cat, this track cooks. And that drummer, can bang those tubs!
Perfect for a convertible top down, arm around your baby. Instrumental, Blues, Jump
A swaying love song introduced by an authentic Spanish guitar, followed by a haunting ‘Santana- ish’ solo. Orchestrated with dramatic Horns, Vibes & percussions. A trumpet in the distance adds to the mystique. Perfect for a sultry entrance, of steamy love scene. Instrumental, Latin, Latin Pop Ballads
Here we go, start that big V8, and put the torn top down. Turn on that old tube radio and dig that slide guitar and huffing harmonica. This one takes you for an exciting ride thru the South. GREAT for a scene ‘open’, bumper, or main theme. Instrumental, Country, Country Rock
A curious track, maybe serious, Starts out in a minor key, but the mood changes throughout. Elegant orchestration with strings under a guitar groove. Mixed up instrumentation and unique percussion creates a unique sound for this one. Instrumental, Rock, Rock Fusion
A groovy guitar ROCK SWING track, with a totally cool HORN section, and melodic Hammond B3 solo. Great for scene intro, bumpers, driving, walking, or THEME song. You’ll get it in the first 5 seconds. Instrumental, Rock, Boogie Rock
Part spooky and part funky, it’s all about the groove. A loopy, synthy big beat, ‘4 on the floor’ dance groove that leads up to a most Funky part. Great cue for a ‘what’s happening’ entrance scene. Indeed, you won’t be sorry for the wait. Sassy sexy swaggering romantic comedy, sitcom, Instrumental, Dance, Experimental
