Songwriter Gary Lee Morris was born and raised on the island of Bermuda, where he's well-known and recognized both by the public and his peers. His songs can be heard daily on local radio, and his “Lazy Boy” CD’s have been well received, especially by visitors to Bermuda who have seen him play live. From the carnival atmosphere of "Cup Match Fever" (a song about an annual local cricket match), to the Flamenco flavor of "Cool Breeze," to the southern twang of "Torn," Gary's music incorporates Calypso, Pop, Reggae, Rock, and Country elements.
Colonized by the British, adopted by the Americans, soils tilled by migrant workers from the Azores and the Caribbean, this influx of cultures and nationalities in Bermuda has brought with them their influences, and these influences can be heard in the songs of "Lazy Boy." Gary's lyrics cover an array of topics ranging from social ills ("Trouble in Paradise," "Let It Go"), to piracy ("Fancy Pirates," "Bonfire"), to just enjoying the activities available in the warm summer weather ("Summertime").
