UK multi-instrumentalist Russ Harris began his formative years with a diet of John Carpenter's chilling dystopias, which pushed an early education into how music is used to provoke emotional response within a production. This is evident throughout the heart of his work, whether it’s the divine atmospheric soundscape, the pounding majesty of the battlefield, or iconic theme tunes. Russ has done music and sound design for many films and games, and more recently he's been producing audio loops and sample packs for other composers.
Since studying sound editing and engineering in London, a thirst for experimenting and discovery steered Russ Harris towards sound design. This was at the forefront of a handful of experimental electronic bands for which he was the principle songwriter and musician, using a combination of old hardware analogue synthesizers and samplers in addition to sound design elements taken from field recordings. This music received very high praise and led to being asked to play a Mute Records anniversary event with artists such as Vince Clarke and Add N To X, and then a slot at a large UK Electronic festival.
After this, Russ went on to have his work produced by David Arnold while contributing instrumentation for a track by UK TV comedian Matt Berry from IT Crowd fame.
A retro horror theme similar in style to John Carpenters from the 80's with a splattering of Goblin's Giallo using vintage analogue synthesizers. Starts with the snarls of the undead and a pulsing bassline, the tension then builds as a twisted organ grinds through the decaying atmosphere. Instrumental, Horror, Halloween Horror
