UK-based Steve Swindells had two major solo record deals, "Messages" on RCA and "Fresh Blood" on ATCO/WEA. Both were reissued on Cherry Red in 2009, and his double CD "The Lost Albums" was released on Flicknife Records in 2012. Steve's songs have been covered by Roger Daltrey (four over three albums, including "Bitter And Twisted" on the McVicar soundtrack), Hawkwind, and Lulu. Musicians who've recorded with Steve include Jon (Culture Club) Moss, Winston (Massive Attack) Blissett, Dale (Amy Winehouse) Davis, and Guy (Pink Floyd) Pratt.
Steve Swindells has never been out of the top 5 in the Reverb Nation Singer-Songwriter chart for Bath, UK since moving there from London in September 2019. He reached #1 in London in 2012. His all-star, ad-hoc, funky jamming band The Plastic Sturgeons have never dropped out of the top 5 on The Reverb Nation Jam Chart for London. Steve also collaborated with several other songwriters in various genres.
Despite its genre description, Bam Boo (the title track of a double album of similar music by Steve Swindells) is a different from most bland, dreary 'ambient' music and packs an emotional and spiritual punch, making it very suitable to be the main background music of a classy movie or TV series.
