Clear Blue Eyes   Am 


I can still look at the sky through her clear blue eyes sometimes
so perfect how they seemed to hold the light
like a Venus sun a'rising through the middle of the night
She had a special way of shining with the light

One day while were walkin, I was watchin' her startin' her lying
Though I hated all that lying I just had to share that light
and share we did although I knew the night could fall sometime 

That day is when I should have known to run from her sweet madness
but then I wouldn't hear of half the tale
had I but listened better I'd a saved my half a heart
from splitting up in smaller pieces still

She had her witchin' ways, and still she does today
When she weaves 'em now its sharper than a sabre
I still sit here in the darkness laying down my same old songs
Singing how I once had glowed in the light of her

I can still look at the sky through her clear blue eyes sometime
can still sing to the world through her voice
so beautiful and liquid how they seemed to hold the light
still looking on the bright side of a choice
