It felt like a stone cold September, was it summertime, I can’t remember but I’ll never forget what a shell of a man you became 
Through the light to the dark through the rain

In the bar we were talking about the future, anything but the hair band she used or, the last time she stood with a picture of you in her hand

I never knew that the road hits the wrong side of town, with time on my side I would talk more of talking you down

As the years pass all I can think of, is the way that you finished your drinks off, singing peace to my kin or at least to the ones who remain
I’m too weak, fall too deep to bare this pain
