Sam hauls for Johnson on the North bound,
Sarah drives local every day
Every single mile, they’re driving with a smile
‘til they meet at the Flying J.

At six a.m. he orders both their breakfasts
And she rolls in as coffee’s being served
She thinks he’s really something precious,
He thinks she’s more than he deserves.

But time is passing by and they both wonder how
They’ll ever be together apart from breakfast hour
They kiss as Sarah heads to old El Paso
Then Sam heads to the sleeper for his rest.

Sam sees a job on the computer
He tells Sarah about it the next morn
Over coffee they’re excited to discuss it
The applications written and it’s done

With longing heart Sam puts it in the mail box
He’s anxious and his mind is full of doubt
Tuesday he’s backing into the loading dock
When cross the yard, the boss gives him a shout.

The boss had words to say about the problems they would face
About the situations at a frantic working pace.
But he said the he was going to gladly record
His first couple driving team and he welcomed them aboard.
