17 is just too young for memories of what you done
To be slowly fading, we should be celebrating
Life and I have come to realise
It’s no longer a surprise
It feels like something’s changing
Was always sure of certainty, was always there to comfort me

I don’t know who’s right or wrong
It’s just the side you’re standing on
That identifies you and in the end defines you

Who knew the world could turn so fast
We’re always told that this would last
And who’s to say the wind won’t blow another way
The tide could turn and wash away
The footprints in the sand

Within the pages of the past, words of warning turn to ash
A thousand years of learning
These are the books we’re burning
Now and it’s a bitter pill to take
There must be some mistake
It feels like something’s changing.
