I've seen people suffer
I've seen people die
disappointment has never passed me by
I'm not the kind of man to fall apart
Through it all
I've kept a steady heart

But I find myself now in a strange new place
where I find it hard to face what I must face
What gives them the right 
to sit in judgment over me?
Not one of them would dare to risk his life like me
for a cause that they know to be right

Why should I try to set them free
When no one even cares...
They owe their lives to me!

I've led men to battle
Some died as they fought
Still, I never asked them to do what I would not
I was the one who always said:
"If one must go through the gates of hell, it should be me!"
And this is how they show their thanks!
What have all my years of loyalty been for?
