Thunderstorm
	

Well I jumped out of her window, legged it down the drive
I’d only got my shoes and socks, but was glad to be alive
I’d met her in a nightclub; I wish I’d never been there
I only found out she was wed when I heard his footsteps coming, I heard his footsteps coming up the stairs

Now why didn’t I just stay at home? Watch some T.V. on my own
Why did I ever go out of my front door?
Because it’s always been a mystery; how it always seems to happen it me
(Because I’m running in my birthday suit from a maniac who says he’ll shoot)
And now we’re just about to have a thunderstorm

Well my keys were in her bedroom, my wallet; all my cash
How I wish I had a cigarette, as the lightning starts to flash
So I set off down the highway, twenty long miles to walk
Now’s not the time to ring the wife and ask her if we can have that talk

You know she said that she was single, must admit so did I
I can’t believe how it came to me to be caught out in her lie
And the rain was getting colder and the wind began to bite
There ain’t no use in a birthday suit on a stormy December winter’s night
