Baby gets blue
Doesn’t know what to do
When the bright lights come on at 2 AM
All the Cinderellas
Have gone off with their fellas
She remembers when she was like them

Old men, they still fare
With that silver-tinged hair
If the still have nice smiles and nice cars
But the night ain’t so kind
To the old gals you find 
On Saturday nights at the bars

Now the nights are so long 
And every love song
Seems to be tinged with the blues
Once baby walked tall
The bell of the ball
Now, she’s only yesterday’s news

Once life was so sweet
Every guy that she’d meet
Would court her with roses and wine
She’s still the same gal inside
But the magic has died
The rose just seemed to wilt on the vine
