Fanny's World

I found a hundred year old letter in my attic today 
Was from a girl named Fanny to a  boy who she hoped would come
Back Home  to stay
It’s what Fanny prayed

The year was 1899 her life was simple but tough
She was a real beauty 
I could tell by her gentle touch
It’s her I’ve been dreaming of
Fanny girl

Wanna go back to Fannys world 
Where I’d ask her to be my girl 
Can I go back 
To Fannys world 

My girlfriend drives me kinda crazy
And I just can’t keep up
I wish she was simpler girl
Just like Fanny was
Invite me and I will come
To Fannys world 

I’d meet her at the gazebo
On a saturday afternoon 
And then we’d talk for hours
Frozen in time
As though time was never between us

Wanna go back to Fannys world 
Where I’d ask her to be my girl

The letter made me wonder 
How my life went so wrong
Then tears began to fall 
Because I knew it all along 
She was forever gone
