Some say it was his stature that caused him such dismay 
Though he was short and scrawny he was a mean hombredwarf 
Yes Melvin moved out to the West and practiced his quick drawwhat 
But he was slow and clumsy and ran afoul of the law
When the sheriff came to nab him Melvin cursed with his last breath 
he tried to draw and accidentally shot himself to death and 
Now we haunts old western towns and tries to make things Hairry
But he still has a real hard time convincing folks he's scary

When unsuspecting strangers watch him first appear 
This tiny little cowpoke, this pipsqueak  Pioneer 
they try to keep from laughing, he looks so furious 
But when he starts to yelling he so darn humorous
