I was much older once,
The world had lost all its charms.

I felt no warmth in those arms.

Threw up my hands and threw it all away.

It all seemed such a drag,
What once had seemed like a gift. 
Another beer, another fag,

The same old faces,
The same old sounds in the same old towns.
I found it such a drag.

And so I changed my life,
I found another world.
Without the glamour  where the
Pools of bullshit swirl.
Tried to forget my dream
I tried to let it die and fade away
I found another world.

And then I heard an old friend say
“It doesn’t have to be that way,
Take off the blinkers and come out to play.”

Now I’m a child again,
