Dad Drank

Dad was a drinkin' man
Always had a beer in hand
Got so he could not see his own family
Dad drank

Dad was a mean old man
And he ruled with iron hands
When we could take no more we walked out the door

I know how hard it is to break free
When the choice is whisky or responsibility

He left us more than just these memories
The fear and sadness here in side are his legacy

Smoker's cough and shakey hands
No grandkids on his knee just a bottle full of lonely
