oxygen 

 

please forgive me 

i feel the rush of intolerance 

i feel the scarcity 

of stuff like empathy 

i hear the screams- they’re a little too loud 

i’m tired of tears, of the leather couch crowd 

doesn’t anybody seize the oxygen 

doesn’t any body drink it in? 

 

i’ve got a feeling that it’s all become 

just a little undone 

 

please forgive me 

all up and down the finer streets 

i see the tragic i see the refugees  

they’ve got  no dirt in their fingers or blood on their knees 

saving their pennies for therapy 

doesn’t anyone embrace this oxygen 

doesn’t anyone drink it in? 

 

doesn’t anyone, anyone see that our time is growing thin? 

doesn’t anyone, anyone just want to live? 

 

i’ve got a feeling that it’s all become
