Well now I been walking down this highway wondering what I left behind
    I got no home or family - but I got trouble on my mind
           I broke down in Memphis and I hitchhiked my way back up here
 there is a man that owes me money and a woman who owes me tears
           I got rolled in Nashville by a one eyed butcher man
 he couldn't shoot me anyway,he had no fingers on his  right hand

      I Caught a late night ride  with a girl in a hippie van
 She said I'll take you all the way - and thats where the trouble all began
       I ran out of food on tuesday case the weather had snowed me in
  tried to make it to the store and thats when more trouble began
  snow plow ran me over and pushed me to the side
  I tried to flag a copper but I couldnt get a ride
      I'm on a roll rollin' down that frozen road
