Be Reasonable Murielle

Another drink behind the sink, you’re making misery a game—and I don’t remember how it was before. You’re breaking glass all  on the floor --- and she’s the one that I adore. I need some Xanax, and she needs it more.

You’re a hurricane, and I’m trying to be the eye, but I’m thrown on the ground—and emotions are flying, then your silence fills the air…. Why can’t you be more reasonable Murielle?

She tells me “yes,” then she says “no”. The swinging pendulum comes and goes. I’m thinking if I’m the one who’s gone. You have this sweet and peaceful side – Dr. Jekyll and Mrs. Hyde – Your moods can change like a growing tide.

Well, there you go again – All my things are flying round, right through the open door – And you say that I’m lying, and I wonder where’s your head—Why can’t you be more reasonable Murielle?

So long ago,  when life was peaceful, you were sweet and innocent. But  now it’s changed, you accuse me—and I see it time and time again, but I wouldn’t even trade it even for the world, times ten.

So another drink behind the sink, and then you catch me once again—you say I’m drunk, but I know you’re wrong. You throw the bottles in the trash, and then I hear the breaking glass. Why do you sing this awful song?

Well  in a photograph, well I see the stars flying from your fluid eyes, and the galaxies colliding ‘round me—what a painful spell—Why can’t you be more reasonable Murielle? Why can’t you be more reasonable Murielle? (repeat)
