FILL’ER UP
(a story about perspective)

Once there was a little boy
who pulled his wagon in the rain.
Collecting drops of rocket fuel,
he smiled as he skipped on his way. Singing...

Fill’er up. Fill’er up once more.
Carry me, give me wings so I can soar.
Fill’er up. Fill’er up for me. So I can live my dreams.

But when he grew, like men will do,
he forgot the magic of the rain.
In stormy times he counted clouds
as precious fuel rushed down the drain.

Perched on a bar stool he ordered a shot
then said to himself,
“This is all I’ve got!”

REPEAT CHORUS

Leaving the tavern he dropped to his knees
and cried to the heavens, “What’s happened to me?”

Then the wind arose
it seemed to whisper, “Welcome home.”
A drop of rain caught his cheek and made him cry.
His mind flashed back to that moment from the past
when his heart could be refueled in stormy times.

Drenched with excitement he jumped to his feet
with arms open wide he flew down the street.
Singing...
