American by birth and Parisian by adoption, Paris-based David Jaggard is a Classically trained composer. Showing influences ranging from Brahms to Zappa, his work spans many genres, including Chamber Music, Jazz, and what he calls "semi-comic songs." He is also a writer, the author of satiric prose published by websites like McSweeney's, The Big Jewel, Paris Update, and MacQueen's Quinterly. David Jaggard's recordings use no samples or loops; every instrumental part is written note by note and recorded using computer-generated sounds.
David Jaggard's Commercial releases included Elastic Tango for piano, recorded by Ursula Oppens (album American Piano Music of Our Time 1990) and Yvar Mikhashoff (album Incitation to Desire 1995), choreographed by Tere O'Connor for Mikhail Baryshnikov and performed on tour in the US and Europe (2004).
